Chairman

Dr. Marvin J. Slepian is the Chairman of Ampira and a nationally recognized physician, inventor, entrepreneur, and translational medicine leader. A Regents Professor at the University of Arizona and Founder and Director of the Arizona Center for Accelerated Biomedical Innovation, Dr. Slepian has spent his career turning unmet clinical needs into medical technologies that reach patients.

At Ampira, Dr. Slepian helps guide the company's clinical strategy, intellectual property direction, and path from prototype to medical product. His experience spans biomaterials, cardiovascular devices, wearable technologies, FDA-regulated product development, and medical device company formation, giving Ampira a rare foundation in both invention and commercialization.

His track record includes more than 100 issued and filed patents, the founding of multiple medical device companies, and co-founding SynCardia, the company behind the world's first commercially approved total artificial heart. For Ampira, his role is to help ensure that the company is not just building a compelling device, but a clinically credible and defensible hearing care platform.
